Step 1 – Log in to Proctortrack

The steps you need to take for your test are very similar to the steps you took during onboarding.

Go to the Proctortrack website using the link sent to you by your institution and sign in.

Important: You will not be able to take your test unless your onboarding scans have been approved.

Step 2 – Select test and view guidelines

  1. Select Go To Test next to your main event test.

  1. Review the tips for setting up a proper testing environment to earn a high integrity score. Make any changes you think are needed to your testing environment now, before the test starts. You can also refer to the Behaviour and environment guidelines help page for more details.
  2. Review the instructor’s guidelines for this test.

Tip: Each test may have different guidelines set, so it’s important to review and understand the instructor’s guidelines every time you take a test.

If you uninstalled Proctortrack after onboarding, download and install Proctortrack as you previously did by selecting Download Proctortrack.

If you have the Proctortrack software installed, a popup displays. Select Open Proctortrack.

Important: If you are using a Mac, there may be additional steps required for you to be able to run the Proctortrack software. See Additional steps for Mac users  for details.

Step 4 – Complete verification scans

Proctortrack will do a system check, you will then need to scan your face and ID card. The scans will be checked against the baseline identity profile you created during onboarding to verify the correct person is sitting the test.

These steps are the same as used during onboarding. Follow the onscreen instructions, the process is intuitive. The slides below will give you an idea of the screens you will encounter during the process.

Note that you will only be prompted to do the room scan if your institution has set this as a requirement.

Troubleshoot upload issues

A problem with your internet connection can cause Proctortrack to stay on the uploading screen, with the upload not progressing.

Your proctoring data (scans and videos of behaviour and environment during the test) will be stored on your local device until it can be uploaded, but must be uploaded within 24 hours after your test was submitted.

You can resolve the issue by restoring your computer’s internet connection while the Proctortrack software is still open. Once your computer is back online, Proctortrack will automatically resume the upload.

If you are unable to reconnect, you can close the Proctortrack software and your data will still be held locally on your computer.

Once your computer is back online, reattempt the upload by using the same steps you used above to launch Proctortrack.

  1. Log in to the Proctortrack website using the link from your institution.
Your tests summary will display upload failed  at the top of the summary graph and a red icon displays in the status column.
  2. Select Retake Test next to the test with the failed upload. You will not need to retake the test, just upload your test attempt.
  1. Select the I have read, understand and will adhere to the required environment guidelines checkbox at the bottom of the page and then select Go To Next Step.
