Azure Active Directory B2C

Janison provides an option for organisations to implement their SSO solution thorough Janison’s Azure Active Directory B2C (Azure AD B2C) as an authentication method into Janison Insights

Let’s go through some of the common terms related to this feature.

Identity provider (IdP)

This is a service that stores and manages digital identities and allow users to log in and connect to the resources they need. They provide a way for admins to manage user access. Examples of commonly used IdPs are Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is a cloud-based identity and access management (IAM) solution. It offers authentication and authorisation services to various Microsoft services like Microsoft 365, Azure, and other cloud-based applications.

Azure Active Directory B2C provides business-to-customer identity as a service. It’s built on the same technology as Azure AD but for a different purpose. Organisations use their preferred social, enterprise, or local account identities to get single sign-on access to Janison Insights.

Why use Azure AD B2C?

Once integrated with an organisation’s IdP, that organisation’s users can effortlessly access Janison Insights without the need to recall separate account credentials, provided they authenticate within their organisation’s system. In the below example, a user clicks the Sign in with Single Sign On button, the system takes them to their organisation’s login page to authenticate. At the point when the system authenticates the user, they will be returned to their Insights home page and logged in.

A second option would be to put a link to Janison Insights on a web page. When configured correctly, the user will select the link and will be logged directly into Insights.

User creation and update

Another benefit is that organisations do not need to manually upload their users to Insights, as user accounts can be set to automatically generate and update upon selecting the link. This may not be suitable for all situations and organisations may prefer to create their users via other means such as a synch with an organisation’s IdP or via a spreadsheet upload.

Admin settings

There are many options available in the settings section of the authentication model, so if this is something your organisation would benefit from, your Janison account manager will work with you to determine your requirements and help you with the setup.

For admins to view the options, browse to Settings > Authentication.
