In the authoring area of Janison Insights, educators and administrators create, edit, and manage assessment items such as multiple-choice, written response, or interactive questions within a structured, secure environment.
The platform provides tools for organising assessments into tests, applying metadata for search and reporting, embedding media for richer context, and previewing item behaviour to ensure reliability, accessibility, and consistency before delivery.
Explore topics related to tests, including surveys, blueprints, branching, practice tests, feedback, preview tools, QTI, player themes, tags, and more.
Explore topics related to items, including stationary tools, stimuli, prompts, reference materials, composite items, feedback, and more.
Explore guides on available item types, with options to try them in practice tests and see how they work.
Janison Insights offers flexible marking solutions, including ‘standard’ and ‘enrolment-based’ projects. Standard projects release all results simultaneously after the chief marker closes the project. Enrolment-based projects, ideal for staggered testing, allow test-takers and teachers to access individual results immediately after a submission is marked, even while others are still testing. This offers greater flexibility and timely feedback.
Enrolment-based marking projects differ from standard marking projects by releasing results while testing is still in progress. This allows test-takers and teachers to access results immediately, even as others continue the test.
Standard marking projects, on the other hand, require the chief marker to close the project before any results are released. These are typically used when all test-takers complete the exam together, and results are only needed once everyone has finished.
Janison Insights allows extensive configuration to fit specific needs. You can define various marking modes and establish custom marking workflows, including multi-marker assignments and quality controls. The platform also lets you customise test delivery, such as enabling in-test tools and configuring locked-down browser settings. You can manage user roles and security, create authoring workflows, and define data mappings for reporting and integrations. There are many additional settings as well.
Configure platform-wide options for a customized user experience. This includes managing styles and images, string resources, and other customizable attributes to ensure consistency with your branding. You can also define default settings for new tests and users.
Connect Janison to other systems to streamline your workflows. The API Framework allows for custom connections, while pre-built integrations with Azure AD B2C and LMS systems like D2L Brightspace simplify user management and test delivery. Additional options support Event Hub, e-commerce, and the seamless exchange of enrolment and results data.
