Deliver
Before exams can be delivered, test authors create the required content. This includes writing questions, setting up test structure, and applying metadata. Once a test is authored and published, it becomes available for use in assessment events.
Delivering exams in Janison Insights involves three main steps:
Create the Assessment Event
Set up the assessment event to define when and how the test will be delivered. During this step, you must enrol test-takers who will sit the exam. Once everything is configured, switch the event to Delivery mode to enable test administration. Read more.
Create Test Sessions
Use the Delivery Dashboard to create one or more test sessions. Sessions can be organised by room, group, or cohort, allowing invigilators to monitor specific sets of test-takers. Read more.
Monitor and Manage Students
Test-takers complete the exam in Janison Replay or a Chrome browser. Invigilators use the Test Sessions Administration dashboard to view progress in real time, pause tests, or grant extra time as needed. Read more.
After the test is delivered, responses are marked either automatically or manually. Auto-marked questions, such as multiple choice, are scored immediately upon submission. Human-marked questions, like essays or extended responses, are assessed later through dedicated marking projects.
Important: Janison Insights is highly customisable and therefore the entities in your system may have been renamed and the menu may have been customised.
It’s important to remember you will only be able to see the entities in the menu which you have role permissions to use.
There are two main roles involved in delivering assessments: Invigilator and Delivery Manager. When you log in, your account is configured to provide the permissions and tools relevant to your role.
Invigilators are responsible for managing active test sessions and supervising test-takers. When they log in, they are presented with direct access to their assigned test sessions, where they can monitor progress, pause tests, and provide extra time if needed.
Delivery Managers have broader access across the system. They are responsible for configuring and managing assessment events, setting up test sessions, and ensuring tests are delivered correctly.
